What are the rules for transporting replacement batteries?

In order to ensure safety, spare lithium batteries, accumulators, including power banks and their elements are allowed to be transported only in hand luggage or for freight transportation only.

Spare batteries, are permitted for carriage provided they meet the requirements specified in the table.

Replacement batteries must be individually protected and either be in the manufacturer's original packaging or have their terminals insulated to prevent short circuits.
