What medical note is needed for pregnancies?

Pregnant women with a gestational age of up to and including 22 weeks are accepted for carriage without providing a medical certificate confirming their fitness to fly.

Pregnant women with a gestational age from 22 up to and including 34 weeks in case of a single pregnancy, and from 22 up to and including 32 weeks in case of a multiple pregnancy, are accepted for carriage upon presentation of a medical certificate issued by a medical institution indicating the gestational age and satisfactory health condition. For departures from international stations, the certificate must be accompanied by a translation into English. The validity of the certificate is 30 days. A maternity record card is not required.

Pregnant women with a gestational age of more than 34 weeks in case of a single pregnancy, and more than 32 weeks in case of a multiple pregnancy, are accepted for carriage only upon presentation of a conclusion from a Medical Advisory Commission. The conclusion must be issued in the form No. 026/u, approved by the Order of the Acting Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 30, 2020 No. 175/2020 “On approval of forms of health care documentation.” For departures from international stations, the conclusion must be accompanied by a translation into English. The validity of the conclusion is 30 days. A maternity record card is not required.

Air Astana reserves the right to deny transport to an expectant mother, even with a medical certificate, if the expected due date falls within the subsequent 7 calendar days.

Women after childbirth and newborn infants are not accepted for carriage within the first 7 calendar days after birth.

At the discretion of the crew and ground staff, considering the general physical condition of the pregnant passenger, carriage may be refused. You can find information by the link here.
